Frequently asked questionsHow long does counselling last?It could be short term, 6-12 weeks or longer term, ending when you feel ready to leave counselling. How long does each session last? 50 minutes. Sessions begin at the time booked and always end on time. How much will it cost? My fees per session are £35-£38 a session for individuals and £50 for couples. Where do sessions take place? I hire consulting rooms at The Stress Project, 2 Shelburne Road, Holloway, London N7 6DL. The nearest tube station is Holloway Road on the Picadilly line or Highbury and Islington on the Victoria line.I also have a practice which is a short distance from Kings Cross in a house where I have a designated room for counselling. What are my professional qualifications? I undertook four years of training and hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I qualified in 2000 and have achieved BACP accreditation. I also trained at London Rape Crisis for one year and gained Certification of Competence in working with survivors of sexual abuse and rape. What experience have you had as a counsellor? I have been working as a counsellor since 1996 which includes a four year training period. At The Stress project, an holistic centre, for six years where I counselled clients referred by their GP. London Rape crisis for three years and London Friend for five years. I have been in private practice for eight years. Do you subscribe to a professional code of ethics? I work to the standards set down by the BACP through their 'ethical framework for counselling and psychotherapy.' I am an ongoing member of the BACP. If you require further information please |
